    Bingo.

Once I found out we were going to start having kids, I replaced the suspension on both of our trucks. All Upper arms now have Moog parts in them, for this exact reason.

I didn’t source any of the parts myself . I took it to a local shop of somebody I thought I trusted . Shitty part is I took it to a completely different shop for service and lube about 1500 miles ago and got the 👍👌everything is good Here’s the bill treatment .

my wake up call is to pay way more attention to the care of my daily drivers .

  2. This is what glamis dunes .com

is all about .... thanks for all the information and knowledge especially  the well wishes . . Hopefully the psa here will help others take the time to look at their trucks a little closer .

the rose in this all was that my 16 year old son stopped driving this truck 3 days earlier as I bought him a used Tacoma . I hadn’t really drove it for a couple months .

As a truck driver with millions of miles behind me, I have seen more accidents than I care to remember. Not sure of your believes so I’ll just say this… it wasn’t your time. Maybe a wake up call though but not your time. Not many survive in the head-on crash with a big truck. It has something to do with the lug nut rule.

As a commercial driver myself I completely agree . The  Lug nut rule is a universal law of physics .

thanks for the kind words everyone and yes I have a new outlook  on some things as a result

and yes I put this here to raise awareness to check your rides .

Mac it was my personal truck btw

  4. So .....

3 miles west of gecko today I was traveling west bound on the 78 doing about 60 and thankfully just missed getting into a head on collision with a 18 wheeler .

My truck all of a sudden made a hard left hand turn into opposite traffic , it took every thing I had to keep it out of the opposite lane until the rig passed at which time I ended up almost  off the road , but was able to  gather it all up and get it safely on the right side of the road and off and into the shoulder .

so after gathering up a thought or two I get out expecting a tire or something  down only to find the upper drivers side ball joint broken in half .

2007 duramax 2wd crew cab 190k miles  factory stock except for method wheels and bfg all terrain tires . 275 70 17 I think is tire size so not a big tire .

had front end rebuilt about 80k miles ago , new arms , new shocks , new tie rods , new bushings and steering parts parts of unknown origin .

the tow truck guy who came from brawler had a lot to say .... he said he sees alot of chevys like mine with broken arms , ball joints,  tie rods . All of them lifted

he commented about the tire marks on the road and he says damn , your a lucky muther effer can’t believe you didn’t flip it .

honestly I never touched the brakes , just let my momentum carry and gradually steered it back and across

point of this is drive safely and count your blessings every day

today wasn’t the day to be my last . this certainly got my attention to look at other things in my life

Probably about the insanity of knowing a system is outdated and overstressed, then planning to double the load on that same system without upgrading anything.....

stop bringing logic and Simple critical thinking out 🤣

  6. 27 years in electric utility industry here   And I can tell you right now there’s lots of diesel burning in temp generators all throughout the territory just to help

Good thing it will all collapse when electric vehicle charging Demand goes up in the coming years and those of us who know will be laughing . to0 bad I couldn’t take my entire life savings and short the So cal electric grid like they did mortgage bonds in 2007 .
    It will fail

  7. I nominate Kevin

Because I loaned him my buggy for his Idaho trip and even though he didn’t end up taking it due to a tow rig issue 10 miles out from his house , He returned the car back to glamis with everything freshened , cleaned and polished up for the upcoming season and some other things he fixed that I wasn’t even aware Of
