The original BBS (Bulletin board system) was a school project for a teacher from Brawley. Teacher or principle, my mind is fuzzy on that but his name is Kurt. The internet was way different back then in 1998 or so with email just becoming a thing, no social media, just crude websites. No pics or video, you were just able to upload text to a "thread" of replies to an original topic post. He gained members by placing signs along the 78. All they said was the text "glamisdunes.com" 3 times. All of us original reprobates were drawn in from those signs. When I typed in the site address for the first time, I found a wild place with the two standouts arguing a blue streak being Fasthijumper and Slappy. The site grew and Kurt changed the site over from a BBS to an actual forum, upgrading several times. He started adding moderators to help run the site and then started backing off from day to day operations. The site started getting very big as hobby oriented sites go and we had a bit of a reputation as being loud and obnoxious (Well earned) compared to the ASA (American sand association) website who had been the largest sand dune site at the time and which we eventually eclipsed in size. Kurt decided he didn't want his reputation as principle to be affected by the reputation of glamisdunes.com and started looking for a buyer. Slappy stepped up, bought the site and has successfully owned it ever since with help running the site from completely volunteer moderators and admin. Well, he does kick down a new Funco to each moderator once a year.....

I didn't want any part of the stimulus. I have no debt, a secure job w/ house and live below my means. But there was no way to opt out of what the handout was going to do (Inflation). I didn't know how bad it would be but knew it was going to be bad. I might as well take the handout since I knew I was going to suffer inflation no matter what. Currently in school at 45 years old to get an electronics degree. I don't need the money, I'm just bored. I can afford to pay for the degree since vocational classes are cheap but my employer is picking up the bill.

Cucamonga is high demand but above the 210 and Banyan is crazy. Great neighborhood with a modern house.

Man, that's a rough situation to be in. Manufacturers are mandated to supply parts for a model for 7 years after date of manufacture. Because of supply issues though, and how widespread they are, I don't know if there is a solution. Have you considered used? Is there a way to clean the DPF?

I saw them in the nineties, say 97. I thought they were great. The crowd went nuts. 25 years is a long time though.

@Funco4Me, that was a nice little rabbit hole. LOL.
I forgot about this:
We need some of the old guys, who used to hang around with the really old guys to give us the official rumor. LOL.
We had a cleanup out there the day after those a holes filmed their video on Osborne. They left piles of trash up there. I talked to a female ranger driving a pickup filled to bursting with what they had left including smashed stage lights.

Long travel rails hadn't been around long at that point. There were all sorts of experimental suspension designs from extended VW beams and trailing arms, J arm front ends, and all manner of home build stuff like what that thing might have been. Back then, it was people trying new ideas and it was cool. There were wildly different designs out there, all leading toward where we are today.

Bed is 86" and Rick says he remembers the package being around 60" from the front of the engine to the rear wheel centerline. The front of the pulleys on the AC and Alternator, PS are going to be very close to the back of the cab. It will be interesting. Not sure where the fuel tank will go. I thought it might be cool to have two tanks and two separate tunes on the motor. One for 91 premium and one for Flex 50/50 gas and ethanol. Could be done with the Holley computer.
I tracked down an old Nelson racing engines vidja where he has one tank with 91 and another with 116, his fuel management handling the mixing based on demand. I always thought it was a slick setup.

We had a nice heavy shower here in Cucamonga. I wouldn't say pouring but it came down nice and steady for about an hour. The lightning was intense!

Never heard of these chess players.
Their channel is them going out in cities with chess hustlers and playing against them. Entertaining for sure. They are both highly ranked and while they mostly win, every so often they get beat.

I've also used the verizon branded network extender. It was expensive, $250 at the time but totally worth it to go from dropped calls and walking to the back yard for a signal to reliable coverage anywhere within range.

I have a pegboard over my work bench that stores a set of often used tools. 6 screwdrivers, needle, standard and slip joint pliers, a good set of cutters, etc. It's not a huge set, just common and often used tools. The main set is in a rollaway and several office type 2 door cabinets. I also have a smaller set in the truck for trips.

I love these things. Super rare to see one. 612 Shootng Brake (aka station wagon). Kind of a throwback to the 250 GTO "Bread Van"
I'm no expert, I thought the damn thing was an FF. It looks like it's a GTC4 Lusso though.

Was just in Glendora at the Donutman for some fresh strawberry donuts. It's really nice up there. Only a few houses under $700K with most around the million mark. There is a pretty sweet pad for rent, $15K a month.

Shutting down the world played its part for sure. But if like I do, you believe that inflation is caused by too many dollars chasing too few goods/services, you can see that printing money that wasn't earned, and giving it to people who didn't create goods or services for it will add to inflation. Your flip side is that there are fewer goods and services to go along with that printed money due to the shutdown.
