Make sure you get a cover (fabric) for the desert, dust and sand sticks everywhere, and it needs to be covered when not using.
Recommendations for a cover that will fit that unit? I see there are some of the big ones that are meant to go on it when it's all set up on the stand. Thinking one for just the grille itself would work better for when I have it stored in the moho.

Dang. Wish my ol moho had one of those installed. Might be something to look into putting one in maybe...

I decided to order the Blackstone 22" Adventure Ready from Walmart. The griddle part can be lifted off the stand and placed on a table if desired and has hookups for both the small propane cylinders as well as the 20lb bottles. Should have it early next week.

Just don't get the 17'', single burner isn't great. With the 22 you have 2, and can one hot side and one 'warm'
For sure. A couple peeps in our circle have those and say the same thing

I got lucky with my Blackstone 22'' countertop model. Was walking thru HD and saw it, no box, was a display, got it for $50!
wow! I'm now looking at the 22 for the portability and since it's just the wife and I. after getting that 30' home we realized that is just way too big for us.

I swung by HD last night and picked up the 30” NexGrill Daytona and promptly returned it this morning. Whoever assembled it forgot some of the screws which, whatever that’s easy to fix. Problem was part of the back corner of the frame the tiny little welds were all broken so it was flimsy as all hell. Even if it wasn’t broken, the build quality of that frame is pretty bad in general. Going to keep my eye out for a Blackstone on Black Friday or closer to Christmas.

If it's ceramic and scratches or gets dinged, wouldn't that be an issue?
After looking at prices, I think I shoulda picked up that Nexgrill. I think it was the Daytona model for $349. Normally $500+
I looked at that one at HD last night. Probably going to be my pick.

I've been looking at all of those like you. Specifically at the 28" versions. Walmart has the 'Adventure Ready' 28" Blackstone for $194. I don't need the big ol wiz bang with air fryer and all that stuff, just a hood would be nice. I like the rear grease discharge of the Blackstone, people say the other brands seem to get clogged at times. The main issue that I've run into is why are the cooking surfaces so dang low? They all seem to be 36" high which for me being 6'5" tall feels like I'm cooking at my knees....

Seems Google searches like to show the usual nation-wide companies vs the local guys. Recommendations?

It’s gonna take me a few days at least to get mine laid out for pictures...

I enjoy it. Except when it is a larger bumper pull without sufficient tongue weight then it can be a bit stressful. I've towed everything from a car dolly to a 45' gooseneck hauler with my Dmax, let's go! Yeah, people are idiots and I bitch and moan when they do stupid chit but whatever. Now with the 40' pusher that is over 30k lbs on it's own and has a nice long wheelbase it doesn't feel what I put on the hitch and life is pretty damn nice. The big air horns up top usually get the messages across pretty decent too.

If my memory recalls correctly, I found this site after servicing @sndsamplr's wife's Jetta back in November 2002 when I worked at Metro VW/Audi in downtown SD. "Slappy Racing" on the top of the windshield and the iconic GD.com sticker on the back window. I was just getting into the sand scene and didn't even have a ride yet (tho I was essentially born in the dunes as my parents were duners from the late 70s till the mid 80s before switching hobbies to Hobie Cats). It's been interesting seeing the board evolve since then. The 13.5 days, yeah wow....

Around 2pm we got about .25” in about 5 minutes south of Ramona. Another huge cell came through about 1-1.5 hours later but hiccup’d over our place however Ramona proper got dumped on. My mom texted around 4pm and said she just had 1” fall in 9 minutes and everything was flooding. She lives on Gibbel Rd just south of Hemet where the Fairview Fire just burned through the canyon including her property (thankfully not her house tho!)
Was weird for sure!!
Adding some pics. One from yesterday after the sun came out and two from today.

Heading up to Hemet in a bit. My mom was finally able to get back to her house within the last hour after being evacuated on Monday due to the Fairview Fire. Her house still stands although some of her neighbors were not so lucky. It burned to probably within 100 yards of the back of the house. Defensible space really is a thing that we’ve always made sure to have around the house and it showed here.

@ElCaminoManT You know any diesel guys?
@D-n-Tyke Check with MDS. If they can’t help, maybe they’d know who could.

Mint Mobile / T-Mobile ?

Wife and I have had our cell numbers with AT&T for 20+ years. Considering switching to Mint Mobile to stop wasting what could be a lot of money every month. It uses the T-mobile network and my previous experiences with T-mobile were not great but that was like 15 years ago so curious what it’s like today. And if anyone else is using Mint Mobile.
