Too expensive at around $4 per mile.  I'm looking at a semi truck hauler that can take all cars in one trip, which is around $.75-1 per mile.

    That doesn't even cover fuel

    Will do, thanks

Drilling down the center and welding a nut on is all good advice. After you've drilled them all, just do one at a time. Weld a nut to 1 and remove it then move on to the 2nd one and so on so that you're not letting them cool too much before removing them. My .02

There are acceptable towns on either side to stay the night.  We usually stop at Las Cruces on the way to CA, or Van Horn on the way to TX.

Planning a road trip to visit the folks in San Antonio and was gonna stop by the caverns.  How long does it take to check out?

If you want to see everything it is the better part of a day start to finish. It's a lot of walking around but it's pretty easy on most people because the temperature and humidity is really good. You can cut the time in the caves down a lot by taking the elevators out but sometimes there's a long line and they break down a lot so they don't always have all of them running. I prefer to take the path out to where the bats fly out in the evenings but it's kind of a long gradual climb. We got a pretty good showing in late August several years ago. It's really up to you based on how much you want to see. Our quickest trip in and out when we didn't have much time was about 4 hours and White's City is actually where the caverns are at is about 30 minutes from Carlsbad and quite a bit further from I10 so travel time is something to think about

I had a really good time at the river walk in San Antonio one time traveling alone thanks to a couple young local girls I met at a club called Polly Esther's that were really into each other... Fun times

  4. Carlsbad is a dump. The tweeker population has skyrocketed parallel to the influx of oil field trash.

The only good thing there is the caverns which is really cool but you need to dedicate a lot of time to see it. The bats flying out of the caverns in the evenings is really cool too but I don't think there's very many this time of year.

  5. Whataburger where I live has green chile. I stopped at Whataburger in Lubbock, TX one time and asked for green chile on my burger and they were like "huh?.... Do you mean jalapenos?" It was several years ago. I know that other places don't have or know what green chile is but that is west Texas. They legitimately had no idea what I was talking about.

Whataburger is good, though. Their prices have more than doubled on a lot of things in the last few years. Blake's and Whataburger are very similar.

    (Open trailer life)

Biggest issue I have is where the F do you keep it when not in use that won’t turn into a sand trap or make your camper smell like gas?

These might be spendy if you try to add one to every jug, but looks promising. Never tried it.

  7. So ya hey there was this secret place within our borders that was enriching uranium in some bathtubs and possibly in a couple of the toilets there. We went to check it out but they told us to get the Eff out. Some of the walls in the place were glowing a kind of green but we went ahead and left anyway cuz we don't want to piss off anyone that might be here illegally or with bad intentions and quite frankly we just don't give two Effs. We only enforce rules and laws on our legal citizens and when we do we only do it in an exaggerated manner and also only if it violates their civil rights.

Bu.u.ut some of the people in this country that still give a fvck kept bitching about not wanting to die or whatever so we went back and told those mother effers that they couldn't be doin that crap here in this exact spot. We told them if they just vacated the premises and promised not to do it again then they wouldn't be in any trouble and we'd come in in a few weeks and clean up the mess they made. We know that they didn't take any of the stuff they were using to make nuclear weapons with them even though we gave them plenty of time to do so because they promised.

    So ya no big deal

    Don't worry about it

    Nothing to see here

Just do what we're doing and pretend like it didn't happen

  8. I have some adjustables that have these graduations on them. Mine are pretty good quality. Sometimes I would use them to check the size of something that I was unsure to save myself some guess work so I could grab the right size wrench or socket.

Me rigging up a temporary trailer brake solution will be a bigger hassle than paper plates, red cups, a pot, and some trash bags. The CA units only have a 4 pin.  The trailer my "quads" will be on needs to have a functioning brake controller.

Probably won't even need the p plates.  Us neanderthals typically only eat with our hands... LOL

That is something I have considered myself using a relay and a power source lead with something like a battery clip to connect to a power source. It would send a full 12 volts to the brakes but for me I'd need it all anyway. But in that case just wiring in a brake controller down near the hitch temporarily didn't seem like much more work. Finding a wire that lights up with the brakes that's not also a turn signal presents a challenge also. Or just don't signal

I won't need any of it.  It's just most of that is supplied with the "owner" ones.  Like most everyone on this site, I have BOXES of camping chit.

As do I but to lug it around to put in someone else's motorhome just to pack it all up in 7 seven days might be more trouble than it's worth

CA....under $1200.  We'd have to bring all our own utensils/bedding/ect.

Pick up the motie and head to Walmart for all the stuff you need. Just get the cheap stuff and toss it when you're done
