  1. Not sure if I've shared the story.. kinda funny. I was in Glamis and on 3/21/21 (a Sunday), wife tells me that they cancelled in-person school for my then freshman at HS. I was slated to stay in G for another few days. Well we all didn't know what was up. Was never worried about TP .. Um duh.. just take old T-shirts and cut swatches (for TP).. but I didn't have a lot of canned goods.

So I bailed and went straight to Brawley Vons/Ralphs, whatever the big grocery store is. Handed out some $100 bills to employees and told them to grab carts. We had 6 filled when some 'manager' with a clip board says, 'Hey what are you doing?.. I have to support the 44k folks who live in Brawley, you can only have 1 can of each kind/flavor'.. totally pissed me off. I replied, 'Dude, I'm here with money to PURCHASE this stuff,.. if sh__ hits the fan, folks will come in with AR15's .. shoot you in the head and just take it,...'

Anyhow, bailed and hit up that little Latin American grocery store/deli/restaurant a little further down the road. Told the manager my intent to do the same. She called the owner and they locked the doors and the employees helped me clear out the store. Turns out I have about 25% Manudo (didn't even know what it was back then). Needless to say, I'm going to replace all of it with some high end doomsday stuff I've seen from some US companies. Looks expensive, but lasts forever and supposedly is pretty good (tasting).

Anyhow, this is like a 1/2 pallet and I want to get rid of them, replace them with the 'better stuff.'

Any ideas on where to donate it all?

    Thanks,

    abc

PS. I'm in Laguna HIlls, California.

i tested positive for the covis today, no shots.

dr was cool. he said everyone will get this, no matter the shots or not, there's nothing going to stop it.

I kinda feel the same way.. eventually since these variants and it's gonna be like the flu you'll have 2 choices..

    1. Get vacinatted

    2. Get Covid

I buckled and got my 2nd shot 5/5/21.

I plan to travel and the vacinne does't concern me. That being said the intrusion on personal liberties and choices is WRONG. If you remain unvaccinated, life, work and travel will become more difficult.

Many of my anti-vax folks are buckling under the pressure, some are now coming to fear COVID. Thanks a bunch China!

  3. Neither does the left… but I haven’t been this swamped in 10 years.

Have to feed the brain though. I’m used to working 1-2 hours per day during the week.

Right now I’m putting in 8-10 hours, 7 days a week.

Once the semiconductor allocation ends (probably mid 2023) … I’m taking like 4-6 weeks off straight… Kauai, US states I’ve never seen. … Italy and Greece… something.

    😁

We are going to Mammoth in mid October before I turn my attention to Mother G, can't wait.

You'll have a blast.. we were at Twin Lakes.. or Mary Lakes.. can't remember... we took the Kayaks to all the different lakes.. George, etc. Had them locked to a tree a few hundred yards from our 'dry camp' spot. We could just hop in and under a bridge see that nice waterfall.

Make sure you move your TH altitude deal.. that I figured out after the trip.

Good job parking that TH in the trees....

Ha.. yeah that's why I took the photo. The other side is similar,... inches between trees... also since us Glamis folks flip our axles the back is over a cut tree stump that it could only clear with the higher ride height.

  6. May be an image of 1 person

Rented this Pagnaglia (or whatever this 959cc Ducati is called)... rented it for 4 days when my wife was in NY.. rode it for 4 hours and promptly returned it. I wouldn't have 'made it' 4 days.. without a track.. LOL.. had it in 'Sport' mode.. there wasn't an exotic car, dragster.. anyone who could even come close.. running down PCH...

  7. .. After the trip, I noticed (sometime later) that my generator had the altitude adjustment. I didn't know about it. We were about 8500 feet if I remember correctly. Gen did run, but it ran a little 'quiet.' Anyhow, so tranquil up there I felt bad even running the gen for an hour a day to recharge the 12 V batteries. Now that I have a 4 6V and solar system, I wouldn't even start the Gen, unless we needed the microwave.

Hope you're all having a good week. I'm the most busy (with my business) that I have been in a decade. The semiconductor allocation is CRAZY and I have tons of parts. I'm charging 5.. 10.. 25 times normal cost ... Sweet $$.. .. if I was younger I'd buy another SCU, Alumicraft for maybe a Funco.

Perspective... our goal in 2004 when we started the business was to make $20k GP each month.. I think I'll make $200k in GP... this MONTH!!... all in the bank.. GOD might take me... who knows when...

    ... I'm ready... LOL...

  8. .. TH.. Kayaks.. firewood.. fishing, ... etc. It was 100 degrees in Laguna Hills when we were there... Mammoth topped out at about 70 degrees. We were making camp fires at 3pm as it was in the 50's by then. So peaceful. It was September 2013.

  9. Laguna Hills (my town) first annual car show. Buddy has an old (restored) Chevy truck… V8 … don’t know the year, but gonna drive that a 1/2 mile from my house. Throw a sign on it.

I think he wants an SS instead.

    Then back to working.

    No complaints…

Took my 1110cc to the dealer. The meth heads that put in the motor… don’t trust them ..4 months. Now the dealer will button the rest up.

Probably break it in next weekend at my Moms in Rialto.

I’ll be all dialed in with 2 new motors for the season.

Did I tell y’all I broke 2 motors within 1 week last season (KOH) cracked the engine case in the ‘14… the following week put the ‘19 on its side/lid and cooked that motor in Glamis.

Season ended in February for me.

Was considering throwing in the towel but you can’t sell your RZRs with grenaded motors… anyhow… no one died … right?

    😑

  10. Working.. still have fresh inventory that I need to catalog and get on the internet.

Business is CRAZY 💵😁💵 but the feeding frenzy will end once the factories can deliver electronic components (what my company sells),

Going to a Boy Scouts award deal for my nephew... He's 18.. Eagle Scouts I guess. Think this is is final deal, then off to college.

Wife and my buddy are trying to book a last minute trip to Kauai for our families, but rental cars are the issue. We can get the accommodations, but no cars. I just went for 2 weeks in June, so no biggie, I'll just be in Glamis, but he's pushing hard to go. We're even looking at sharing a 12+ passenger van as there will be 9 of us. I might veto if the daily rate is what I've read online ($500/day for a car, probably $1000/day for the Van).. I have no problem spending money, but I want the value for my buck.

We did first class (just one way) my wife and I and the 3 teenagers enjoyed coach. The price wasn't crazy and the experience was great. .. that kinda thing.

Coffee.. slept in good.... Just woke up.

    Peace

PS. Prayers for your wife's recovery Justdirt. Curious if you'd be willing to share your wife's age and overall health prior to getting it. I try to 'log in mental records' for as much ACTUAL data from folks who I know got it so I can judge risk, etc.

  11. .... So I have 'secret' film that will end up on the cutting room floor?... LOL... sounds like me.

I loved running with Deanasaurus and the rest of the Killin' It Crew. It was hard to find other cars/drivers that could run at that pace. I can count on one hand.

Lots of time if it was a group of 5-8 cars, it would be just me and one other car after a mile or so into a run, we had lost the rest of them... We'd get bored with the slow pace and just say 'We'll meet you back at Pad 3.'

Andrew (Buck) drives fast. We ditched the group he had with him at night one time. Almost got into a fight (my ass kicked).. I was passing and the dude with just a headset, googles and no windshield came up to me at Olds when we stopped and said, 'You need to apologize for spraying sand when you passed me.' .. I replied ' I apologize... that you drive like a 13 year old GIRL!' .. Andrew stepped in between us and we bailed before the guy started swinging.

Definitely wouldn't have turned out well for me. Dude was at least 6'2" and had me by 50 lbs (I'm 5'6", 175lbs)... I owe Andrew one for that.

  12. I always thought ONE-A-DAY aka TNTDUNER was the original owner.. I know he's the one that did that paint job. I HATE themed cars, but I've never seen an American flag painted car that looked as good as this one. The blue is a little darker than the flag.. as the car comes at you it almost looks black...

If I bought another sand car, it'd definitely be the same motor.. possibly another SCU.. either that or a Alumicraft, Elite.. maybe even a Funco.

    abc

Here's the video before the paint job... Can't believe I found the video had to search SCU Glamis Walt (ONE-A-DAY's first name).. At least you can hear the motor.. all my dumb videos I put music over it cause it was a combination of GoPros (1080dpi) and a small hand held (720dpi). The GoPro footage has AWFUL volume, but the hand held picked up well.

I have probably over 50 hours of GoPro video.. all different angles.. showing the passengers inside, facing forward, facing behind.. I'd suction it to other cars and lead or follow my camera.. included the 2 GoPros when I sold it.. kept nuthin'... One day I'll edit all that footage.. there's some good stuff in there.. especially the in cab stuff that shows my wife, kids and myself moving around in our belts, etc... her grabbing the oh sh__ handle, etc.

I smell a nice write off.. ... I should wrap my Razor's with my logo.. and the TH... write them off as 'promotional.' Should check with my accountant.. I easily have $60k in SXSs (cost) by now... I designed my own logo for my company when we opened it 17 years ago.

  14. .. keyboard soaking wet.. tears.. cause now I drive golf carts.. I sure do miss that 415ci LS3 CMB Stroker.. Killing it in my business.. I'd get back to a sand car if I wasn't so 'deep' with the golf carts.. It is nice having 2 2 seaters with car to car, but I miss the sound,.. shear power and terror of the old girl.

I see he threw a sticker on the wing.. I had it repainted/changed after owning it for a year.. ONE-A-DAY wasn't working for me.. everyone thinks you sell vitamins.

    The “Swallow Fest,” hum…

Right?... My wife grew up with this dude Matt Mauser, he was just on one of those singing TV shows, he does the old 'crooner' type stuff with the old folks and his cover band is Tijuana Dogs, professional singer, etc. Unfortunately his wife died in the Kobi helicopter crash as she was the assistant coach for his daughter's team.

Sad deal... he's getting back on the horse. Feel horrible for the guy,.. both used to be teachers and instead of that were living out their professional dreams, etc. Matt's daughter was supposed to be on the chopper but they moved or cancelled her game or he would have lost her as well.

Her name was Mellissa Mauser I believe.

  16. I have.. many times. .. Right before COVID-19 I was at the Swallow Fest in San Juan Capistrano.. band called The Reflex (80's cover band) in a packed house was unplugging... I threw a $100 to the lead singer and said.. 'One more song' ... he was like 'Cool what do you want?'.. I said Eye's Without A Face - Billy Idol.. He's like 'OK'.. then I jump up on stage and I say, 'Hey ..  I'm gonna be lead.' .. quite the show. My wife wasn't with me but one of her friends was.. had the house jumping.. I'm a good showman and do all the moves up there.. got a lot of high fives after.

I have a good ear and perfect pitch, but age has reduced my vocal range to a very low register/range.. it sucks, cause I can hear the notes I need to hit, but can't hit them. In my teens I could sing to Michael Jackson level/range. Sucks cause it NEVER comes back. So I'm stuck with only low register songs... I can do some heavy metal howls.. Rob Zombie.. or Let the Bodies hit the floor,.. Doors..

I do this when I'm blacked out drunk.. probably sounds worse than I think.

I bought a sexy $500 Karaoke machine a few years back.. never really used it. Gave it to my 22 year old daughter. Hopefully she and her friends are having fun with it. The Speaker/Amp is like you'd have for an electric guitar.. it's studio level,.. kind of complicated to operate, but you can really have fun with the echo and other features.. just my singing days are in the rear.. done Glamis Karaoke many times (on friends machines).. once I get the mic, you have to pry it from my cold (drunk) dead hands..

    Happy Friday everyone!

    abc

PS. Did a Sublime one at the last bar.. I did OK, but you go to a Karaoke bar, you're messing with some serious talent.
