Recommendations for a cover that will fit that unit? I see there are some of the big ones that are meant to go on it when it's all set up on the stand. Thinking one for just the grille itself would work better for when I have it stored in the moho.

See this one on Amazon now, no idea if it will fit, but may consider one myself

You should buy it and let us know if it works... haha

  2. Started with a 28" w/lid and fold up stand for the motorhome a year or two ago.  End up using it at least a couple times a week at the house but it was a bit too small when cooking for the family or trying to keep a lot of different foods going.  Found a 36" patio version on CL over the summer and haven't touched the grill in months. Have done everything from breakfast to burgers to steaks on it.  Big thing for me was finding ones with good fold up lids vs the tray cover that some have.

It looks like that's just an AZ thing tho. They do have an $.18 extra per gallon commercial vehicle fuel tax.

The AZ diesel tax rates are $.18 for "light" class and $.26 for "heavy" class so only $.08 difference between the two.  Definitely something to pay attention to if filling a large tank (RV or similar). Many truck stops have "RV/Auto" lanes with the cheaper rate but same wide / pull through access path as the trucks use for convenience.

The Cali trailer has this additional bar whereas the AZ trailer does not. I assume it has something to do with the roll up tarp?

It’s the upper latch for the door system and it keeps the door posts plumb as well. Helps when filling with brush and packing it down - makes the doors easier to open.

There's a guy who buys used class 8 trucks, converts them to RVs for towing and changes the gear ratio to a taller one. He does YT videos showing off his fuel economy towing a 24,000 lb trailer. One truck got about 9 mpg towing and when he changed to a taller gear, it went up to 10.5 mpg. Empty, that truck got about 16.5 mpg before and about 17.5 mpg after. He got very similar results with another brand of truck. One had a 12 speed auto shift and the other had I believe a 13 speed automatic.

In addition to the obvious safety benefits, those big rigs are getting better mileage than my truck towing an estimated 19-20k. Not to mention they can carry 300 gal so you can fill up whenever you find a great deal on diesel. Regardless of where you live, you don't ever need to buy fuel in CA again.

That's the classic "gear fast, run slow" mantra, interesting to see mileage gains that high though. Suppose it makes sense given that the load is so much lower than grossing 80k.  Was seriously considering the Class 8 route when we were in the market for a larger 5er as buying a used Class 8 truck was cheaper than a newer diesel pickup to pull the same load, not to mention the benefits of engine braking / air brakes. Only downside was lack of off-road capability vs a 4x4 pickup, we tend to end up in some interesting places and burying a rig that heavy isn't high on my list of things to do.

So is this in effect now, not fixed? Are they enforcing it? Passes available at Gecko Ranger Station or do we need to order ahead of time?

Couldn't find anyone in Yuma who even carried them anymore but a few places in the Valley did, had a friend bring mine down this trip.

Here's the old vendor list that the CA Parks Dept has yet to update, would suggest calling ahead as Steve's was out at the time but SDHQ & Gateway Motorsports had them in hand.

Kind of but much bigger. He had a motorcycle that was on a track running through the tunnel. The tunnel lead from El Chapos cell bathroom to a warehouse a few miles away.
