8:30 kyle chaney was the fastest run and jumped it off the back door

The on-screen timer was off by over a minute. Unofficial says 7:26, but even that looks slow based on the livestream time elapsed.

I wonder how many classes they have?

also remember that KOH/Ultra4 lumps all the classes into the same race

Speed it likely in Pro-Stock or Pro-Turbo class. The polaris proR is in a totally different class.

RG (9:03) is in Pro Stock Turbo (according to their FB post, can’t find them on the qualifying sheet), same class as Heger (8:00) in a Turbo R. The Can Am factory guys are in Pro Mod, with Chaney the top spot at 7:26. Max did a 9:38.

Chaney saved a bit of time sorta bypassing Backdoor.  No need to deal with the obstacle if you just jump off of it

  4. First thing I'd do is use an income tax calculator to determine the actual POST TAX delta. $40-50k could be $20-25k net.  Every time I get a raise, I'm amazed at how little ends up on my check...

But yeah, I'm in a sorta similar boat.  I get offers as a non-DoD engineer that are the same/more than I make now running multiple teams...  Job market is weird right now.

But those jobs are soul-killers, so here I sit.

my first trike was an 82 250r and i thought this things crazy. then i bought a banshee in 1990  lol. miss that trike, it put me thru hell and damn near killed me

All stock other than a 300 kit installed sometime in the late 80s.  Father-in-law bought it new in 1981.

  6. NA EJ is super reliable.  Turbo, less so but not bad.  Modded turbo or run on the race track, really less so without someone like @John@Outfront breathing on it a bit to fix some of the factory issues.

Since the block is split and thin, you might have issues machining it back to flat to keep HGs in it, so if you're gonna get it, I'd budget for a whole replacement motor (used from a wrecked car would be how I'd go).  Even then, for a couple grand, you're not much into a decent and economical daily.

Just be cautious, neighbor did the quad to his early 60's then took a bad hit. Air lift, hospital stay and end of dunes for him. Not saying it can't happen with a cage, but you certainly increase your odds of a better out come with one.

I now crested 70 and have no desire to fall into sand at any speed, even walking!

When you're young, you want to live forever.

When you're 40, you think you could do another 40, easy.

When you're over 60 (I assume, not there yet), the pain stacks and you wonder if you can take another 30.

Rip this bad boy out there. Buggy is fun, this is a different type of fun for a quick 30 min ride.

Even then, 30 mins on a holiday week/weekend is quite the workout.

    Gonna run paddles?

If you are referring to a few years back where there were 500+ living up in the forests for the summer & walking down 18 to live in Lucerne for the winter then no. Of course there are tweakers everywhere nowadays, but nothing like that debacle.  My shop used to be right off a road that lead to the tweaker camps up in the hills behind me, they'd stumble down, walk into my shop and babble, scare customers, use our bathroom to shower in LoL. Glad that's over.

Huh.  We camp on the North side of the lake a lot.  We'd see some minivans that obviously had people living in them here and there, but didn't realize it was 500+ of them up in there.

My brand new 2022 2500 came with those same tires (17" rim).  They were almost bald at 16k miles.  Even wear but tread was GONE.

  11. Local elementary/middle school district for us is small and can't afford a lot of advanced placement stuff.  Our braniac son quickly outstripped it and we talked to the District about independent study, which they had a surprising amount of stuff set up for.  You're not the only one wanting to do something like this, and a lot of schools have things set up for it.

As much as I hate the school system, they did at least do my son right in this regard.

I heard they all got bussed to Idaho.....

Not a lot of accommodating police officers there to let them steal cats, batteries and Walgreens cosmetics there to support their habits though.  They'll be back.

    thanks for the sanity check.

Once tires wear one way, they tend to continue to do so, even when you rotate them.  I'm assuming you have too much toe in.

  14. I try to make a fun working environment...

And shitcan those who aren't bought in with no regret or mercy.

Why won't businesses hire older workers?  We're the only ones who will work????????????

Over 40 is generally a + for me unless its for an entry-level position.  Then you better have a good reason for the career change.

Its COOL to raise the front wheels up in the air going up hill in a rear engine car, REALLY!!

Sorry, one of my top 5 Azzhole awards.

I’ve been to most of those countries. Most of them have a rule: accidents are the fault of the lower ranked person. You’re a guest worker and the dude who  rear ended you doing 150mph has “1” on his license plate? Your fault. Should’ve gotten out of his way.

    Bright side: no dust.

Downside: those silt beds turn into quagmires.
