No race gas at this Maverick. Also, then and the Loves across the street seem to be in a price war. Unleaded was $2.31 yesterday before the Maverick app discounts.

Crazy - was $2.89 when I drove by this evening. Compared to $3.29 in other places around town.

do they have race gas or will you have to across the street for that

Didn't see any there but also didn't go through the Auto side to say 100% for sure.

Ty....I could easily deteour by that.

Maverik doesn't fool around.  That place will be open soon.

If you do detour, you might try exiting at 8-1/2 E (by Walmart) and running 32nd St westbound. Trying to u-turn into the Circle K from Araby is a pain.

  4. Not open yet, drove by week ago Thursday and it was still fenced in.

FYI - the Circle K at Araby and 32nd St has blue handle non-ethanol at most of the dispensers since their remodel a year or two ago.

  5. Ours have done the same thing over the years, good thing the dog is deaf but it scares the hell out of the kids.   One thing I did learn was that if you can stand the noise, walk around to them as they are going off and look at the LED color & flashing pattern. One will be different than the rest - that's the one that started the commotion. At least you may be able to narrow it down to one or two bad actors rather than throwing them all out.

Side note, we had three nights where people jumped the fence from Mexico.  All three times it was a family with kids.  We talked to two of them before Border Patrol got there, one family was from Peru and the other from Columbia.  Border Patrol was all over it and super nice. The families were nice as well, we were lucky to have some people in camp that spoke spanish.  We have been camping in that same spot for 30 years, first time we have ever seen this.

Wow - had always heard stories from the days before the fence, but none lately.  Although last season we saw a group crossing I-8 at the canal and barely missing traffic Frogger style midday.

The only problem I have is big business tends to buckle at the knees from special interest groups. There's no telling what kind of deals and pressure they'll be put under and what that will mean for the dunes.

I know they are a huge corporation with 100 attorneys on and retainer but that doesn't stop people from doing a class action lawsuit for deaths, injuries, or environmental issues. Seems like a whole lot of extra liability when you have a small city out there. Wonder what that looks like on the news..

Not entirely sure how the liability thing works within corporate law but it appears to be a separate Polaris LLC entity that owns the parcels. Perhaps there's some insulation there?

Actually, I have the AZ offroad plate and I don't buy the annual Az Offroad sticker any longer, Just the Non-Resident Ca, decal as this only area I drive mine.

Started doing this last year vs paying both for the quads.  AZ RV plate establishes ownership and the Non-Res CA is considered the registration.

I guess it went under when Firebird Raceway opened and took over the NHRA Winter Nationals??? Saw this driving by as a kid since the mid 80's, tower stood for a while, I always thought it was a drag strip but wasn't sure as I thought this area was all reservation land. Think there was a skeet shooting range out there also...?  If its not Indian land then it is a prime spot for motorsports as it will never be close to housing..

    What say you...?

It is Tribal land. There was a shooting park a bit up the road up until the early 2000's but that's closed down too.

My setup has this exact thing - In the past when I used it (going back to it  if I can buy any real solvent)  - they recommended we use either a "gas" filter  or a "racing oil filter" because most Oil Filters filter down too much and put too much back pressure on the pump - racing filters are way less restrictive, I just put the date on the filter and swapped it every 6 months

I've been using a fuel filter from Napa on a generic mount - pumps just fine for what the little HF pump can put out. Changed it once or twice in the handful of years I've had it, although it doesn't get used too much.

I've seen some guys rig up an external oil filter adapter to use a spin-on filter in line between the pump and the nozzle.  Should let you use the fluid for a long time, and just replenish what evaporates.

Did this years ago with the HF washer and setup a metal bucket below to hold the solvent vs in the tub itself. Still on my original 5 gal although I don't use it as often as I used to.  Tractor Supply carries a 5gal jug of solvent just for this purpose too.

I believe you are now required to get the Ca. non resident ohv permit. $ 30.00 annually. Good Jan 1 to Dec 31.

@endobearFrom what I read, it depends if your home state honors the CA sticker; if so, you’re good to go, if not, then the non resident sticker comes into play.

  13. Our group chipped in for a Bubba Rope over ten years ago after constantly sinking at least one rig each trip.  It has held up well and we typically use a diesel pickup to pull out everything from other trucks w/ toyhaulers to the small DP w/enclosed (no stackers in our group).

When looking to order one for our new to us Moho, I contacted Yankum and Bubba. One said to rate your rope size on the vehicle doing the pulling while the other said to rate it on the vehicle being pulled but both wanted a good safety factor so size accordingly. Solid connection points are a must on each end as any flying steel is no bueno, we've added mounts to the front of our Moho to pull from.  Once setup correctly, I'm a big fan of that style for pulling rigs out having unfortunately been on both ends over the years.

  14. Not a bad idea at all, just wonder how accurate it is after losing cell signal?  Certainly been times out in the valleys where signal drops, could get you in the region at least.

My buddy lost his phone out of his pocket on a trail ride to Crown King this past Spring.  Quick call to his wife and a screenshot of the phone location on the map made it easy to find. Lucky for him it was sitting in the middle of the road, screen side up - untouched. The entire group had managed to miss it with their tires.

Best part about cali roads is driving across state line and seeing/feeling the difference. Especially around yuma and the lower river

And they just redid that stretch only a few years back from El Centro to the state line
