Too expensive at around $4 per mile.  I'm looking at a semi truck hauler that can take all cars in one trip, which is around $.75-1 per mile.

I'm $2.75/mile flatbed and $3.25/mile enclosed. If you can get a tractor trailer to haul 5 cars, or even a single car, for $.75 to $1 per mile send me his number.

Picked it up last month. Took it John @ Outfront to dial in a few things and routine maintenance.

Had it out for 10 days - ran good. Handles better than expected. Turns/ slides well.

Don't really care about the looks. Too old for that :classic_biggrin:

Still playing with air bag pressures. Has an onboard compressor - but no tank, etc.

Who is the go to guy for installing a complete air system?

Cool old Funco.  I've done several complete Funco on board air ride systems.

Although it was most likely a rough road for y'all........................CONGRATS!! Time to do what's best for YOU! It's OK to be selfish. You deserve it. Peace

Definitely a rough road, especially dealing with her addiction and alcoholism since 2017. She was good one day and impossible the next. Started out as a DIY divorce 2 years ago and we had an agreement. Then someone got in her ear and convinced her she deserved half. She got an attorney immediately. 2 years later and half was what her attorney wanted. But in the end I was able to keep the house (she moved out of state 3 years ago when our kids were 17 and 12) and my business is 100% mine and she can never touch it. I don't have to liquidate any assets. That being said I'm sending her a significant sized check next week and monthly payments for 3 years when a bulk payment + interest is due. In the end she didn't demand her equalization all at once, which was unexpected, and pissed her attorney off to no end.

If you don't have a prenuptial agreement you are basically driving 100mph on the freeway with no insurance and hoping no one crashes into you. Sucessful investments, hard work building a business and having only a mortgage seems like a great idea, until divorce.

But it's over and could have been much worse. This weekend I celebrate being newly single and my 52 birthday.

    Life begins today.

  4. Much different scenario but- I had a cracked windshield on my RV for a few years. Filed a claim with my old insurance company. I was in the process of changing companies. They sent out an adjuster. Told him a 'box' blew across then freeway during high winds in the 86 ans i couldn't avoid it. I just wanted the windshield replaced but he walked around the entire RV and wrote up every knick and scratch. A week later I had a check in my name for ~$7k.

  5. Doc has been looking into the hard drive and said I needed to get my Bitlocker key code.  Never heard of that so Google time.  Found it and it shows three keys for my laptop.  One created Oct 2017, another March 14 12:08PM (when my hard drive crashed) and another one March 19 4:43PM (when the repair shop was working on it).  Hopefully Doc can use the Oct 2017 key to recover my files.  I sent him the information.

Question is.... When this happened "The laptop seemed to do a factory reset." did it FORMAT the drive or just rewrite the operating system Windows?

If it was a format reset you are likely F'd, if it rewrote the the OS there's a chance your personal files are hidden in the user profiles.

User profiles are stored in a few places, here's one.

maybe @JDMeister has a better answer

I did that the day it reset itself and the only user profile I could find was the one created that day.  So bummed.  I'll spend some time this weekend going through old emails looking for my docs I'd like to get back.

  7. Turns out Doc at Funco has the cable to hook up to the hard drive and search for my files.  My son is dating his granddaughter and is hanging out with them this weekend.  Hopefully he can find something.

  8. Last week I was trying to scan some docs from my HP Office Jet Pro to my 7 year old Dell laptop and the laptop kept freezing.  I had to unplug it and pop the battery out to get it to reset.  Doc's finally scanned and all was good.  A couple hours later I was back on the laptop and it froze up again.  Unplugged, battery out, booted up.  But this time it was different.  The laptop seemed to do a factory reset.  I went through that and it booted up.  But everything was gone.  I keep all my business files on an external drive but I had a bunch of files on the desktop and they are not there now.  Went down a YouTube rabbit hole for finding my files, undoing the update, etc.   Nothing worked.  Took it to a local PC repair shop and they found some files but not the important ones I'd like to get back.  My One Drive was set to back up some stuff but not the Desktop.  The files I need aren't life changing, but would be great if I can get them back.

One thing I noticed was for the 3 days my laptop was at the repair shop the HP printer was on, as in the screen was lit up like it was plugged into my laptop, which it wasn't.  I turned it off and back on once I got my laptop back.  Anyway the HP printer caused my hard drive to reset and delete all my sh!t?

The PC repair place installed a new hard drive that has more memory and is much faster for $200.  They gave me the old drive.  Is there anything I can do to try and get the files back?  Is there a super badazz computer repair person that would be able to handle it?  I'd be willing to throw some money at it but have no idea what the service costs.

  9. Learned that divorce is expensive. But it's over. At the end we are just numbers on paper that equal dollar signs. Morals have no place in divorce court. Attorneys make it personal, give horrible advice (to her, mine was good) and steer their clients into ruining future relationships between a parent and her children.

  10. There was a 10' wide 4' deep hole just like that between Pad 4 and Roadrnner on the dune side real close to Gecko Rd.  My son sent me a video of it while he was on his moring walk.

About three seasons ago we switched to using a fire barrel in camp.  Basically its 2/3 of a fuel drum with no top or bottom and holes cut into the side.  Very simple.  The barrel keeps the ash and embers from blowing all over and helps to direct the smoke up a little higher so more people can sit around it.  Admittedly a fire barrel can't accomidate as many people as an open pit fire but we have more than one to use.

Kiddie tracks are a real thing as well.  There were a bunch of them on the dune side of Gecko Rd near Pad 3, Pad 4 and at Roadrunner.  My son was puling into camp a few week ago and noticed a Funco laying on it's side near Pad 3.  He jumped out to help and it turned out to be a guy that camps near us at Roadrunner.  He hit a kiddie track and fliped the Funco.  Vince was ok but the car is effed up and not driveable.  We went back to get it several days later and deliverd it to Funco.

  11. Parkit 360 rated for 10,000lbs.  Bought to move trailers around in storage but haven't used it.  It's brand new, tits still on the tires.  Battery is also brand new.  Has a built in charger (120v) and voltage display.  Also a manual disconnect to put it into neutral for moving around unloaded.  It has a 7 pin connection so the trailer can plug into the dolly and the battery will give it power to raise/lower the tongue jack.

$1200 obo.  Delivery to San Diego, OC, IE or Phoenix can be arranged.
