  1. What a great trip for the most part.  Had Xmas eve at home with my in laws. Got a flight with the family back to SAN Diego. Had some car issues with the blower belt on the funco. Still not sure I got it dialed but didn't blow another belt after tearing the rear off the car adjusting idler pulleys and shimming the crank pulley. Fingers crossed I don't shred no more belts. Car performs awesome otherwise. The sand was chopped up dog chit. But we made it work.

I bought the wife and daughter a new Pro R and it really performed awesome. Very surprised at how well it did. The wife and my 12 yr. old daughter rode to dunes with some friends. Pretty awesome my 12 yr. daughter smashed the gas all the way with her mom in the passenger seat. I on the other hand almost flipped my car coming down the right side of olds, scared the crap out of myself and my 10 yr. old daughter. What I think happened is that when we hit the bottom of the hill, it pogo sticked me (G'd out) and sent my a$$ of the car to 12 o'clock. I heard a lil voice in my head "hit the gas" and we managed to land rubber side down after doing a wicked nosedive. Maybe all those years of racing quads actually helped but I thank God we didn't flip the car and my daughter didn't get hurt. lesson learned. The guys I was riding with that had seen showed up in support, took some time to shake it off, but we rode on.

The next few days were a blur, but we rode to numerous places on a lax time schedule but put almost 400 miles on the car in 7 days.  We cleaned up the ledge after Friday night's trash show. Teach the kids to respect the dunes. Really wish people would not trash the dunes and pack it out.

The best was when everyone went home, and we had the dunes pretty much to ourselves. We dunes for solid 5 hours with 2 stops. We got to enjoy the no traffic in the dunes.  Kids had a blast, wife actually wants to go back, and we had an awesome group of people to camp with. We even went to the market for the Monday night BBQ. That was a good piece of meat! The whole crew helped to get all the cars running well, we ate together, drank together, and I felt the love. Love this sport and ready to go back after a major reset. Fingers crossed. Will have to share photos later.

  2. Hey for Grant to get those cars back together in the dunes as quickly as he did is awesome. We crossed paths a few times and he was rolling pretty damn good. It was rough terrain out there. Glad everyone was safe.

  3. My funco had a some fan fuses and relays cook a bit . Does anyone know of anyone in the area that can wire a solid-state relay in SOCAL Area. The car is being picked up my LRS at this time. Grant is booked and looking for options for me and redline is swamped as well. I am open to options if they do great work and can get it done before xmas.

  4. This question has been coming up a lot more. I want to retire around 55. Being in Silicon Valley will plan on selling the big house and getting a smaller house and being able to travel. My goal was to be able to go to glamis /travel or whatever I want when I can and no have to worry about having enough money to do it. The issue is 2 kids in middle and grade school . Once they are done with high school I will look at it. My goal is build my business as much as I can and probably do an M&A and only have to do consultation work. but for now I am a slave to my employees and family!
