It means waking up at 3am .....searching offer up for atc 70 parts and Harley golf carts...........It means searching Craigslist in Oregon and CA for a 16Valve VW Scirocco...............It means calling someone you have never met 3000 miles away to grab a vintage Honda for you while being late on your morgage and paypaling him over a grand to someone you have never met but know him from gd,com!!!!!

AWESOME friends and relationships forged along the way with like minded peeps trying to live the 1983 life again!!!!

    PRICELESS!!!!

    So.........

I have worked my butt off most of my adult life and been able to take care of my mom and my dad. I have built a business and been successful in doing so. I have reinvested in my business to grow it since 2007. I now have an opportunity to buy a home for the first time.

I am in escrow on the worst home in the worst condition in a great neighborhood close to my work.  Is has appraised (unbelievable) for more than what we are buying it for. The but is..... Its basically uninhabitable. Its the eye sore of the neighborhood.

We will have to move into it at some point, most likely sooner than later to use the current rent funds towards the home.

My plan is to do the tear out of all the drywall, flooring, kitchen etc. Prep the home for a plumber to replumb  in (PEX) and an electrician as the home is wired with aluminum wire and breakers.  I plan on pulling permits for everything. I need to keep the costs as manageable as possible.

So thats the "what up" with my post.

I dont ask for help. I always give the help. I am going to need some help.

This isnt a flip for us. This will be our home.

LMK if you know a guy, have some guys, if your that guy.

    Home is in Costa Mesa.

I figure this will take us a year to complete.

    Thank you in advance.

Let me know when youre ready.  Just got done doing all this after some f*#k head renters.

  6. Not my daily, more like weekend/summer cruiser but my baby before my babies.  My oldest will be 21 in Aug.  I built this car before he was born and actually brought him home from the hospital in it (when it had a roof)

Awesome vid!  China Wall to Roadrunner is an AWESOME rip if you catch the right line.  Not as heavily trafficked so generally not as beaten up, and it mostly steps up (after you get on top of the China ridge, obv) so you can really see and plan ahead.  11 minutes sounds like a great time.  I remember back in the day spending all day leaving from Vendor's trying to get to China and sometimes failing with too many break-downs, lost ppl, car sick ppl etc. in the group.  Once I started camping at RR it was like "oh, it's like 10 minutes that way" lol.

IMHO (take it for what it's worth, it's just an opinion and you know what they say: opinions are like bholes, everybody has one and most of 'em stink...) this isn't a "DUNER's RACE" at all.  I've led some fast night rides... but still nobody with a truly fast car is going to push it to the limits at night.  At that point it's just a matter of who gives the least effes and gets lucky enough not to break or hurt themselves.  Also, Pin to Pin (like RRE to Olds) just encourages you to flat-land and find the quickest DIRECT route, NOT a duner's route.  Basically, you'd want to just hug Gecko and haul ass close to everybody's camps... at night... when you can't see if kids or pets or people have strayed from the campfire... and get down to a bit North of Gecko loop and then try to catch a due-East line to Olds to cover the shortest amount of actual dunes.  There is a bit of a valley you can run going Northeast after dropping over the first ridge off Gecko, then you have a tiny section of actual bowls to crest over the top of Olds.

It could be fun, and interesting... but it's not a good measure of a what a good Dune car or dune driver is.  It's more about chit-tons of travel and big balls.

I agree, but don't think they will do it at night and that's saying if the socials don't get out and get it shut down.  Be a hell of sh*t show if they do do it and at night.

Thanks. I've got a section off amazon before and looking for quite a bit more as well as the poles and spreaders. Can get it all there but this small non-profit is attempting to keep costs down. :thumb:

A 20x20 would certainly help, especially if I can get ahold of a few more that size and the poles/spreaders.

Each year we ask the veterans to gather at the flag pole for 2+ hours for pictures and the ceremony... Korea, Vietnam, the middle east, and deployments didn't kill them but standing in the sun for their ceremony just might at some point, looking to throw some shade for the vets while they are gathered at the pole.

Got the netting squared away yesterday while on CP @HozayKwarvo  3 of them so big it could cover my house.

Could also pick up the one from @2turbofords since I travel to Esco weekly.
