  1. Great day today!
@Fullthrottleguy the shop is awesome! From industry knowledge to customer service Race Ready Off Road is second to none! I would like to thank Alex, Mike, Bob and the rest of the team for having us. Going to take the girlfriend out to dinner tonight and convince her we need a set of your billet valve covers, awesome machine work and I really like the seal instead of an o ring like others.

Got to meet @Chingon619 and talk about his new 4 seat sand car & dunes.

Also met @Rockwood talked about dunes, road racing, different metal treatments and such.

Saw @Poule43 talked about ATC 70s of course. Once I get my 70 going I’m going to need one of those Poule Atc BBQs!

Hernan from engrave it was there with his car. If you haven’t seen it in person you need to things a work of art to say the least

Dana, Dustin, and Trevor from Raw motorsports brought their new Ripper sand car. That thing is the real deal!

Lot was stacked with vendors Holley, ADS, Maxima, Marshin whips etc. It was like a mini sand show

I can't find them. I might have thrown them away which I can't believe I did. What billy  @gforce was going to do was send me the splined pieces, have me measure and then send them back for him to build the axle shafts.

If you dont have the cv joints (stub axles) probably best just to go with g force

Can you make axles for this? Corvette spline pieces on both ends? I assume 300m to handle the horsepower. I figured this was a specialty item that you didn't fool with. I would rather buy them from you in a heartbeat.

Yeah, just did a set for an 05 GTO and a set for a new supra last month. Pull the stock axle shafts bring them down and I can check tooling. Wouldn't be surprised if its the same tooling as that GTO

Just sent this message to Billy@gforce in regard to axles.   Good morning, although it will be a lot of work I am able to get the rear wheels off in a different way versus disconnecting the suspension components. I am able to unbolt the entire cradle. Let it pivot up at the motor mounts and drop the transmission and cradle down at the back to remove the rear wheels. When I mounted this cradle in the truck I set it up as exact and close as I could to my 2002 ZO6 corvette. Attached are a couple of photos using a 1 inch steel shaft to simulate the half shaft. At the five and a half inch drive height of the truck which is the same as my Corvette the angle on the axle is three degrees going down from the transmission out to the wheel. With the airbags on this which were a specific C5 Corvette kit I bought it actually has less travel than the stock Corvette suspension. So there's not going to be a lot of angle change there. I can always run it up and down and check it with the air out of the bags and also aired all the way up if you want me to. Right now that axle is 1 3/8 away from the airbag which I think should be plenty of clearance. From the end of the output shaft coming out of the transmission to flush where the splines start at the hub I am measuring 20 and 1/4 in. As mentioned before I narrowed this rear cradle just under 6 in so each axle should end up very close to 3 in shorter than stock. Let me know what you think is the next step to getting some axles built. Just a reminder this will be 600 horsepower. Probably about a 3,600 lb truck. And a 345 wide rear tire on a 19 inch wheel.

If you need help with axles, I'm just down the road:hapy:

Thanks Parker, glad you like it. What issues have you seen with the newer trucks that have you questioning?

Nothing off the top of my head, One guy I go to the dunes with got a new Duramax last year and its been in the shop 4 times. 3 for dpf/ emissions problems, and once for electrical. I feel like half the people I talk to with new trucks have similar things to say.

I guess the real reasons I like my truck and don't want to get a new one.

Its been proven reliable and I've maintained it religiously

    no truck payment

Ever since its been tuned, its a whole new truck. No way I want to go back to DEF and a slow truck

  6. 2018 f250 diesel, hands down my favorite vehicle I've ever owned. Got a good deal used with only 12,000 Miles, Its about to crack 190,000 miles. Truck Has run flawless so far... But I can feel the trans shifting harder and harder for the past 10,000 miles... I've been talking with my tuner and we will be rebuilding the trans sooner than later.

Truck was deleted and  tuned at 100k

    leveled on 37s at 40k

Its not a show truck, its a truck. I haul material with it for work  and I occasionally will send it through "Jeep trails" at lake pleasant to find some shoreline away from everyone else.

I have thought about getting a new one, but I've seen so many problems with new trucks. I call my truck "the last good one"

  7. We had a great show, more orders than expected which is nice to help cover the cost of the show.

Got to meet a lot of people and shake hands.

Released some new exciting UTV product, seem to have a lot of interest.

Cant wait for what the future holds, lots of new products coming down the line for sandcars and utvs.

  8. Here is an aerospace shaft we do quite often.
316 stainless. Here is a video of shaping the spline on our Mitsubishi cnc shaper. This job uses a custom shaper cutter for a missing tooth in the spline for timing. They are not complete still another operation on the mill.

I run a Zeiss Contura with the Calypso program.

I recommend an articulating head, if you're gonna play with one.

Nice that's a nice cmm, I really like the duramax from zeiss. Its a shop floor model, would still go in the inspection room. Duramax seems very well suited for our one off jobs. Also Zeiss has some of the best gear inspection software out right now.

  10. Here is a one off job we are about to finish for a company in Texas. The smaller helical still needs the key way machined and then it will be sent off to the heat treater.

the larger of the two gears is roughly 10.25” od, 2.25” bore with a 1/2” key way. We made this gear out of pre heat treated 4140 with a hardness of about 30rc.

the smaller gear is just over 4” in diameter with a 2” bore and a 1/2” key way. We made this gear out of 8620 and we will be carburized and harden to 60rc.

  11. Some of you may know Gear one is a part of Ayers Gear & Machine. Ayers Gear was started in 1985 and our slogan is "Keeping your company in motion since 1985". We focus on anything with a gear tooth, spline, or serration. Commercial, Mining, refuse, aerospace, defense, and one off work is what we do. We make gears from garbage trucks to manned space flight and everything in-between. I am super interested in what we do and I think some of you guys will be to, so I am going to post a few jobs we do here and there.
