Why are our Freeways so crowded if everyone is leaving..................I am want 1995 traffic back.

Oh yea! I miss the mid-90's when you could run a white Ford Bronco solo down the 91fwy :mff:

  2. Nothing at all in Westmoreland  The old Shell across the street used to but they shut that down years ago. We come that way and then through Ocotillo... used to stop there at OW and they closed that one down too... then we used to stop at the entrance of Vail Lake outside of Temecula and they shut that one down... MFkers gonna make me pull the handle on the highway

  3. I learned that you get what you give. I was fortunate enough to spend a substantial amount of time in the dunes this season and while surrounded with a bunch of great people doing really good chit, you get it back in spades. I was also reminded that there are amazing people at Gilmore's, Daddy's, and Glamis Dunes Rentals that make spending all that time out there a lot more enjoyable.

  4. I'm not a fan but it comes with the territory, I get it but don't be a douche and catch peoples chit on fire. Last trip though I did spend one evening with a PA speaker aimed at our neighbors with an air raid siren and chicken wing on an hour loop, passive aggressively letting them and the rest of wash 13 know that I didn't like the mortars dropping directly on top of my RV... after a few minutes of that they stopped lighting them off within 20' of my rig at least... I'm better prepared now though, only had a pair of Bose SL1s with me that time, will have those and a pair of JBL Partybox 310s as well as six 12' powered PAs with me the rest of the season... oh, and I get up by 5am to piss these days so go ahead and keep me up all night, I'll be sure to blast some revile for your camp while I'm watching the sun come up... now GTF off my lawn :ol:

CA wants in on the action!

"This decision is about honoring the rule of law in our country and protecting the fundamental pillars of our democracy," Kounalakis, who launched a campaign to run for California governor in 2026, wrote.

CA will be drinking waste water soon, can't really take anything they do or say seriously...

  6. Unintended consequences.

I think it is yet another bump in support and not another nail in the coffin. These douchebags don't understand that every time they bastardize a the legal system in order to "get Trump" they have thousands of voters, who were not previously Trump supporters, waking up and realizing that they are batshit crazy and we actually need someone like him... for a guy that is effectively going to bring the end times if elected (per MSM), he's polling pretty fkin good.

Where is Hozay's? I'd like to look at it. That Five-Point plan is classic. Peace

The newer F3928RR is the closest to what I have now and by them moving the fridge they give you even more room for toys... I have 26.5 from door to fridge, this new one has an extra foot beyond that.

I was doing two 450 quads and a 4 seat canam and could have fit more if needed.

Eclipse Attitude 39CRSG - it looks like 2019 was the last year of it and they have rolled the models, made a few changes/upgrades:

  9. @Grease Monkey You absolutely deserve it buddy! That was the first major undertaking and true effort to do more than just the ceremony and the only reason it didn't go as sideways as the wind that weekend was because of you. I look at the last 20 years of this event, the new non-profit org, and where we are trying to go in the future and can point to that exact moment in time where things changed for Glamis Veterans. It hasn't been easy and I'll keep pushing the envelope forward when things get too comfortable, but you were absolutely instrumental in the transformation into something more, and that was the flag flying over Glamis when it happened :smilie_flagge13:

At 11:11 i turned on my radio while we were stopped just south of Big Bowl( stupid sunset hill now) and listened while the planes flew over.  Then we duned out to Osbourne and then south just past Olds where we found an older gentleman in a Rzr tipped on his side all alone.  Flipped him back over and guided him to bottom of Olds, we then headed back towards Flag Pole where we sat otop of a hill just east and watched from a far.  I heard the whole thing except when down in Olds valley.

Really appreciate the feedback on that. For being down in that valley and LOS, I'll take it! @Yarder @Grease Monkey  @Greengo  :hethan:

great ceremony, i was listening while duning the open dunes by Osbourne.  Thanks to all for the show.

Super interested to hear how the radio went ... @Lord of the Dunes recommended the antenna setup, tuned a CP22E and had it 30' off the ground on the biggest hill we could reach, but still stuck in that valley. We certainly reached out more so than last year! Our dry run from Pad2 reached the base of Olds and the Calexico border crossing...

  12. I'm barely working through recovery from a 10 day trip with entirely too much equipment but before we get too far gone I need to shout out to the volunteers that made this event happen. THANK YOU!

We had some that helped a lot and some that helped a little. All of it mattered and with your help we were able to pull it off.

We were broadcasting on BFGRELY as well as FB and YouTube. I know that there was a starlink drop and working on fixing the video that is uploaded to get the full content up.

As with every year, we tried some new things and will figure out what worked and what didn't and make next year's event better.

I can't tell you the amount of Veterans and attendees that sought me out to say thank you for this event. That is 100% due to the efforts of our volunteers. I saw the look in the eyes of many of the veterans that I shook hands with... what we are doing is important and very much appreciated. Thank you for rising to the occasion and pulling off another great event.

...now on to the next event

Starlink users, how is your service on busy weekends like this year’s Halloween/Camp RZR weekend? I saw a lot of dishes deployed out there. Was is still fast wifi?

I had a ton of people on mine all week leading up to Vets and it was fine. A few VPNs for work, constant streaming, etc... speed tests weren't great with a dozen or so devices connected but it worked with no issues.

Saturday morning I changed the password and kicked everyone off, put the dish on top of a 20' pole and used it for the ceremony broadcast. The speedtest with only 3 users at the flag pole was ~5x faster than at camp but we still had some snags pushing the ceremony broadcast through. Working to find out what the particular issue was with the stream so that can be fixed for next year.

All that said, it's the best game in town for general use.

I would highly recommend having the router set up on an inverter, even if it's a small harbor freight one dedicated just for that https://www.harborfreight.com/automotive/automotive-accessories/inverters/400-watt-continuous800-watt-peak-modified-sine-wave-power-inverter-56496.html  - avoiding the reboot time when power is cycled is worth the $50 or whatever it takes to avoid it imo.

  14. Terrible news. SO fkin sad. RIP Mr S. I can only imagine the pain that required inducing a coma. I had 3rd degree burns with the zombie flesh hanging from me... worst pain I have ever had... road rash ground away most of my burn scars.

No idea of the particular situation, other than what that FM post mentioned, but I have and continue to host total newbies in the dunes. Making sure that they fully and completely understand how to remove the belts and exit the vehicle has become a higher priority for me.
