The shift linkage looks like it will present a problem, radiator plumbing and also push my engine and cv flange location back a few inches. It all depends on where the 2D is currently mounted and how much room it has in front of it. Best case scenario, you can mount the HV-24 where the CV joints are in the same location so you would not need new trailing arms. This will push the engine back about 3/4", and will require some room at the nosecone. I would need pictures of what is there now to give more detail. The HV is huge. I would go with a sequential for resale value. The easiest trans swap for you is the Fortin 4 speed sequential. The HV-24 is actually almost a full inch shorter from BH to shifter shaft than a 2D from end to end. The HV's have a longer distance from CV joint to bell housing due to the bulkhead being built into the main case for better strength, rather than the 2D having the bell housing act as the bolt on bulkhead that tightens up that distance. So when placing the gearbox so the CV are in the exact same forward/back plain in the chassis, the HV will set the engine further back than a 2D. It all depends on where/how the 2D is mounted now. The distance from the CV joint to the front of the trans for an HV is actually shorter than a 2D, but since it is "boxier" than the tapered nosecone of the 2D, it might interfere with a rear cross member/torsion housing of the chassis. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
