Gotcha.  this has been an issue as far back as I can remember.  folks were going so far as to coat them with bed liner & VHT track bite to get tires to stick.  my favorite is 3 big dudes sitting in the trunk of a car on the dyno.........  YIKES!!

I dont get how the Diesel truck folks can say they are putting down 3000 ft-Lbs of TQ on a chassis dyno with a truck that has E-Rated tires on it..............  300 Ft-Lbs smokes the tires, but 3000 does not????

Working thru some technical stuff and setting up the AEM infinity ECU to control the boost. Two ways to go a about it with my setup. One is buy a stand alone boost controller. That's the easy way. Or, use the AEM system to control boost settings. That's the harder way but you all should know me by now. Hahaha.

The AEM infinity from my research has tables and percentages that need to be based then use the base to build from.

Unlike a standalone boost controller, this Infinity can be used for a multitude of controls and settings.

The AEM supplies boost dial switch is 12 position.  John and I agree we don't need 12 options and it's just not attractive. It looks like a toaster oven timer.  John's sourcing a mil spec 4 position switch that will work with the 5 volt reference and break that voltage down in those steps. Basically a dial potentiometer with 4 stops.

I'm thinking this week will be time to add some fuel to the tank. 😁

On my 2.5 Car, I ran it at 14.5 lbs.  450 ish HP.  The engine was built to handle over 20 lbs but never went there.  That car is still running strong today. I bet 7 years now....

On my current car with the last 3.0 at 8 lbs we had 600 ish hp.  That was a blast.  Really never got comfortable with the new build as the engine just wouldn't keep head gaskets and the new to me sequential shift pattern wasn't mussel memory.

What i can say was the 600 hp was something else in consideration of what i've owned the last few years.

This new build and boost settings should provide me a base (bottom setting) of around the same 600 ish hp.   Not sure how far John will push it climbing up the boost range but from what i've been told.  1000+ hp is obtainable but truly not sustainable or necessary for how I dune.

Honestly if 850hp is the high setting and I can tickle that just to see and feel it on those special occasions then Id be stoked.

This car is nimble, and with the short wheel base it will be a handful.

Even need 4 positions?  A lit latching push button with an inline fuse and light for off/ALL TEH BOOOOOOOOOOOOOST YO!!!! might be plenty.

Cars on the dyno.  Making good power with low boost around 5-6 lbs.  Going to set the base boost at 10 lbs and build the tune from there.

Current engine horse power at 6 lbs of boost is 430.

Been a longer road then planned.  But I will be picking up the car from Outfront today.   John's going to weigh the car for me as well which is always nice to know.   This 3.6/3.2L engine is making 711hp on my high boost setting.  My turbo is rated for 650hp and its putting out about all it can.   Plans to run the car for this season and there's a good chance I will just leave it as is.  I have 4 boost settings to play with from 450-711ish hp on E85.

Going to a bigger turbo has a down side and thats low end power.  I want the power now and honestly chasing more HP in this little car makes no sense.  Not that I didn't think about smaller twins, but I've got a season I'm looking forward too and hope to see y'all out there.

Shake down might happen in two weeks.  Fingers crossed I get all my other chit done.

Thanks for following along. Ill get some photos up in the next few days.
