  1. While I'm at it..... we used to take a borrowed one to the beach a bunch and the one we used to borrow had straight legs and they would sink in the sand. When I made this one the piece on the bottom is actually the top of the washing machine flipped upside down. It prevents the legs from sinking in the sand. Also the beach has a rule that things with fire in them have to be some number of inches up off of the sand. It took forever to get the damn washing machine apart so by the time I was welding this together I was kind of over the whole thing and my give a crap level was dropping fast. LOL The grill is from Walmart, fits perfectly and helps to keep the embers in when the wind is really blowing. Were I to do this again I think I would buy one off of Craig's list.
  2. I knew this was coming........... LOL Im not sure what the lip of the drum is made out of (its not the same as the side, which is porcelain coated steel), but it was VERY unhappy with me welding on it. no matter what I did I could not make it weld right. I took a hammer to it & it held, so I called it a day. its held for >10 years now so Its gooder enough. LOL. it was like I was trying to weld with no gas on, super strange.
  3. Fwiw, this is how I did my handles. Broom stick and junk from the scrap pile..... I can pick up the fire pit with blazing hot coals in it and take it to the coal dump (with assistance of course)
  4. DAMM is that a nice car. And yea............. serious garage envy.
  5. There are a whole mess of stackers on "straight up toy trader".
  6. DAMM............ $20K impulse buy???? you must have a hell of a time getting out of walmart with all of the stuff right there next to the checkout counter. LOL.
  7. we found a few on Craigslist about a decade ago. we were going to buy it for the drag car I was crewing on. in the end, we chose just to buy ice when we got to where we were racing.
  8. thanks. Have you used this brand before?
  9. My buggy has a chinesium light bar that does not work worth a darn. I would prefer a BD or Rugged. New or used would be find. we dont do much night riding, but I would like to have something that worked. this one just sucks..... Im in San Diego. thanks Bob
  10. Might try calling Dave McDowell, 619 449 0996.
  11. IIRC the widest allowable width by the NHTSB is 102". anything wider & you have to have a permit to run on public roads (and if its wider than something something else, you have to have an escort with the permit. this is why the 102" magic number. the trick is finding a mfg that will make the door opening as wide as they can w/o making it weak... Bob
  12. And I don't think I've ever seen a trailer with shocks on it. It seems like one with springs would be a good idea. Torsion Axles, maybe not. Looks like, someone took good care of it with solar, air compressor, all the outside lights, etc...
  13. Something like that is close to what I'm after. It would appear what I want is a unicorn. 28' to 30' goose/5th, shower/toilet combo, open floor plan, no slides, and little things. Oh.... and it not be 65k would be nice. LOL. Above all I'm a cheap ass, but won't buy crap. Good quality = good money = good value.
  14. @Crusty, I know this is not your add......... Im wondering, is that just a closet or is there a bathroom in it??? The add did not say anything about a BR, but why would it have 40 Gallons of water if no BR?
  15. There is a good chance it was me. I found some since. Imo, $1200 is fair. I would have jumped on that, especially with those wheels (I like them)
  16. not sure what its worth, but 2 or 3 seasons ago I paid $400 for all of that (except it did not come with calipers or pads). It was Gear One (which is what I have in my buggy). Everything was in good shape, except the Aluminum CV Flanges were junk. I called Gear One, they had steel ones in stock, so I bought them. EDIT: It also came with 2 CV Bodies, but one was complete junk, the other might could be used, in an emergency.
  17. What years are they? Are they both sticks? Were they both Diesels to begin with?
  18. There we go. That's bitchen. What intake does it fit?
  19. HOLY SMOKES.............. I wonder what I can get for my 99 Ram.... I just installed new floor mats 8000 miles ago, so I have that going for me. LOL.
  20. @MWB I know Ive been watching it. I was just sharing my opinion. No bites on a REALLY clean vehicle to me says that its too expensive for the market (or being marketed in the wrong place). It seems my plan of waiting until the prices of new trucks comes down to something "reasonable" is not panning out for me. LMAO.
