Well after many years of being allowed to drive and living through my knee grow @Grease Monkey and all his Funco's, the dream became a reality. In the Funco family This is the brother to his current car that just got the re-do other than power plant and trans. We believe the car was originally built with a v8 per build sheet from funco Its a J35 turbo (low boost) with a 2d. Dont have a lot of experience with the Honda but am excited to learn so you Honda guys can be sure ill be full of questions.. @Kraut_n_Rice These Honda's have some long legs and the car handles amazing. There will be a short list of upgrades. Full prep, whole new radio kit as t…

Joined the Funco Family. @Grease Monkey took the wife for a ride Regatta weekend and she remembered how much she missed having a buggy so we went and picked this up immediately afterwards. Our last buggy was ~15 years ago and was a VW beam car... Listing was: 20062 Funco Hustler SSE 4 seat (#15) 420 horse Redline Northstar w/ MEFI, Mendeola 2-D, 930s, two-tube bypass Kings, radio & intercom with 4 head sets, 2 owner, factory built, professionally maintained, and super clean. Car is pretty much a time capsule... gages, lighting, etc. all original. Original paint still there but previous owner updated panels with some black vinyl. Went through the car …

In my OCD I was searching. I wanted to find a nice car for my wife and a backup for my trips. I really should not of bought another car but it's an addiction. My good buddy @Hondajimz knew of the car and I made an offer after speaking to the owner numerous times. A good friend of mine handled the logistics and brought it out to me . I will say this cream puff ran great, looked even better in person. Surprisingly it gave me no issues, love a turn key car with plenty of power. I am going to send it in for a rendition, so my wife can personalize it to her liking.

Need some guidance / Pictures for changing out a 2d to a S4/S5 Transaxle. I reached to to @onanysunday and asked him for pictures of his conversion that were lost in the change over. He suggested that I ask on here so that he could re-share them with everyone if others are in need.

I have the 2d out of my Gen 4 for service and I brought home a S4 mock up from McMullen out here in Phoenix. This Gen 4 is an original V8 2d 930 car and I wanted to see if the S would fit. Here is a photo of why it doesn’t fit basically the back tube would have to be cut out of the car. I am not sure what the difference between this car and an original S4 car is but they are different. If that tube wasn’t there. The S would literally bolt into the car. Hopefully someone finds this helpful.

Hello, I am wondering what you would recommend for a direct replacement for my turn brake (if there is one available). I am also looking at replacing the brake and clutch assembly while I’m at it. The turn brake and pedal assembly are the original ones that came from Funco. Thanks for any and all suggestions, and happy holidays.

Just wondering if Funco uses an off-the-shelf radiator for the GEN 3 models or is it a custom built radiator specifically for the Sandrail.

I thought for sure I had a thread on here about the car, but I guess not. I don't have a ton of pics/vids on this computer, so I'll make this a quick one (well, by TJ standards ;) ). I bought the car at the start of the '20/21 season, and it looked like this (complete with two-story roofline and idler chirp): FWIW I got it with the trailer in the vid which it drives right in on the paddles. This car is an original Funco built/titled G52, and as such is the "narrow" car. Still, both paddles touch the door-seals as you bring it in on a 96-97" door. The car actually first hit the sand sometime in '15, and was only used 'til about '17 when the original ow…

Grant/Chad found me a set of paddles, but no luck on the front tires Anybody have a set of Mickey Thompson Baja pro 15” 33 shaved front tires? Well, I found the wife a car! Excited to get it back out in the sand it needed some Unexpected work. uggggggg! When I purchased the car, I noticed the front and was seriously neglected and I knew I had to repair I ended up having to rebuild the whole front end, including all new heims and adding weld washers. The repair went flawless. After I got the front end complete it was time to test the car! The wife wanted to passenger in the car at first just to get the feel for how it operated. Right off there was no…

I searched and didn't find anything. Just wondering what pressures you guys run in your bags- I recently added onboard air and made some changes to where the motor and trans was mounted. Taking it out this weekend for the first time since the changes which got me thinking- what pressures do you all run and what is your set up? Also looking for input on dialing in the rebound and compression settings. I plan on giving Grant a call to get his input but just wanted to check on here as well. I have a gen 4 Funco, S4, LS3 with LSA Supercharger

We are just trying to come for air after a great Regatta event so I thought I would post up some pictures. First want to thank all the Customers that braved the insanely sketchy weather and coming out. I'm guessing we must be right with the Sand Goods, the weather cooperated just enough to get the organized events off. Need to thank some people : BLM for working with us for close to a year to pull of a fully permitted GECKO ROAD event Our partners /suppliers for fully supporting us with great giveaways @funco4lizzleand family for always stepping up and doing the Ladies Run Champagne stop Our Funco Family Dune/Camp group...always there for…

Hey guys, Went to do my routine check through my car before my next trip and noticed a few things needing attention... One of which is my Steering rack is starting to leak. From my understanding its from a Ford Mustang, but the markings on it are not matching any part numbers for the auto parts stores... Would anyone know the part number? Hoping to have this and a few things done in time for the Regatta. Thanks in advance for any help

If your going to be participating in the group photo and want to be parked with your group for the photo please do not go down to the staging area without your group. I would ask that you all leave the registration area as a group, head to the top of the ridge and you will be sent down together. Follow the flagger instructions. we will be at the top and bottom of the site.
