I thought Texas was cheaper than CA???????????

Not since people can work remotely  - any desirable location in the US seems to be between 300-400 Sq ft            Nice Place Good Luck with the Sale!

  2. IMO and observations, it's a hit or miss market right now...

If someone is looking for something in particular they will search and will pay "ok" for the car that matches their needs - Generally people do a Google search first and as long as you are somewhere that puts your search up top  - people click it.

People seem to check FB marketplace and BAT, more than everything else,  but  Hemmings and ebay still get play.

The problem is unlike the last couple years where there were LOTS of people with $$ just looking for a cool car and  buying something that stood out,  now there are far fewer buyers and they pretty much know what they want.

Also the Lookie-lou's and sightseer's on FB and BAT make the numbers look good, but the transactions just don't support that.

Classic cars are right now a buyers market for sure. The people with money that always have money are buying "A' cars, Pedigreed cars, and 100 pt cars, because they can and they are available. The exception is when a classic shows up in a big movie the flurry from real buyers goes crazy - thats the time to cash in bigger...  thats always been the case.

  3. Does he advertise them for sale? I noticed the Hemi Cuda had a sold sign?\

I Used to buy and sell Cuda's and Challengers for a couple guys in the Midwest with collections like that, they were always swapping up and down

was pretty amazing to see some of the collections  - One of the guys ALL of the 454 LS6 70 Chevelle Convertibles made  in his collection

check these out.  I have used them and really like them for the price.   https://www.amazon.com/Auxbeam-RGB-Switch-Panel-RA80/dp/B0B722MX7J/ref=sxbs_sbv_search_btf?content-id=amzn1.sym.f15d2f09-357d-4995-986d-e924fbe183e3%3Aamzn1.sym.f15d2f09-357d-4995-986d-e924fbe183e3&crid=R5A097S48O2I&cv_ct_cx=12v+switch+panel&keywords=12v+switch+panel&pd_rd_i=B0B722MX7J&pd_rd_r=26939c39-bc2b-4c21-9d23-5873911d3ca3&pd_rd_w=gH7mG&pd_rd_wg=A8evc&pf_rd_p=f15d2f09-357d-4995-986d-e924fbe183e3&pf_rd_r=YZ67F11EX8X6EMS4A87Q&qid=1689303860&sbo=EO%2BcdOgoisx3waG5xqcZQA%3D%3D&sprefix=12v+switch+%2Caps%2C201&sr=1-1-a61ee601-6e56-4862-a8a2-1d3da5a5406f

have not had issues with them in my can am or both sand cars.  This one can even start the car.   There are other even having bluetooth out there now like this one but have not tried this one. It looks good and for $196 can beat the price.  They are very easy to wire as well. https://www.amazon.com/ALAVENTE-Momentary-Multifunction-Bluetooth-Waterproof/dp/B09YM16YLQ/ref=sxin_18_sbv_search_btf?content-id=amzn1.sym.6cfa532e-9c8f-48d2-87a3-a61547a0d356%3Aamzn1.sym.6cfa532e-9c8f-48d2-87a3-a61547a0d356&crid=R5A097S48O2I&cv_ct_cx=12v+switch+panel&keywords=12v+switch+panel&pd_rd_i=B09YM16YLQ&pd_rd_r=8d4cbff0-0f67-4fa7-9c86-632415d790a8&pd_rd_w=02x73&pd_rd_wg=J68jJ&pf_rd_p=6cfa532e-9c8f-48d2-87a3-a61547a0d356&pf_rd_r=60FFK6ZX4H1BEPCZMQ7S&qid=1689304045&sbo=EO%2BcdOgoisx3waG5xqcZQA%3D%3D&sprefix=12v+switch+%2Caps%2C201&sr=1-1-5190daf0-67e3-427c-bea6-c72c1df98776

while I did not recommend these Amazon Chinese copies... people have handed them to me , and I have used Auxbeam for lights etc. in a few low cost car builds and some are 4 seasons in now and still working fine - going to Dumont, Glamis, Ocotillo etc.

Overall for the price and performance they get a solid 7 in my book - if you leave them in the sun the little stickers can coime loose - had not seen that on the switch pro so faer

They are all copies of the Heise Box which is from a reputable Billion dollar US company (METRA) (still made n china though:)    and supports "starting"  your car  - In fact I use one in my car and have in last two cars for about ~5 years  - thays the only control I have in the car for everything from start to lights  - since I use a Holley EFI I do't fool wit ruinning fans and fuels pumps ands trans coolers on switches I let the ECM do all that I do start, lights (soon  moving everything but start to my Holley dash - did a few cars like that  - work great)I do heated seats and I do switch comms on with the box as well.

The Heise is slightly more $ than the the knock off boxes (momentary) and have none of the stupid gimmicks (BT) that hurt relaiability - (you can't pack that much cheap crap in something and expect it to work reliabily)

    Buy Heise cheap here  https://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_89782_Heise_HE-SWP8.aspx?utm_source=google_shopping&utm_medium=Product_Feed&utm_campaign=google_shopping_Price_Comparison&gad=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw5MOlBhBTEiwAAJ8e1qwvKWhMsBbgvSUzd6Stailug_d-43JaUOxXofKY4kSohNIDrYGPIBoCniEQAvD_BwE

    Product Info here:    https://heiseled.com/product/HE-SWP8

I will not use the the "relay" versions althiough they are easier to fix in the dunes ...  they mix solid stae and mechanical and draw too much stand by power ( think dead batteries)

I like the design of the Heise  better than a switch pros  (in some ways) personally because is the switch pro dies (everything dies eventually)  you are cutting wires and trying to figure out in the dunes now to jump things to get the car going not obvious what does what  and you better keep a wiring diagram in the car  - you could carry a programmed spare - but thats $$

The Heise has a terminal block  eacxh set of wiresd isa marked to what switch -  If a Solid state switch goes bad, you just move the wire over to the other terminal  in seconds (hot wire it) and you get the car back to camp  - not that I ever had to do that luckily)  FWIW  FTG

You don't offend me, unlike the Woke Facists I believe people should have their own opinions.   And if you want to wear a dress and drive your sand car  - I got no problem with that, just don't be afraid to break a nail when changing a CV :-)

Official races are big $$ for the area there  - No way they are going to condone or allow violence

its like being in a resort pretty safe as long as you stay in the prescribed areas

  8. I stopped going a few years ago after I met el Presidente while working at Televisa in Mexico City

The level of corruption there makes Biden seem innocent  - the lack of consequences for this type of crime  separate this from anywhere in the US (so far), even Chicago.  Here you at least have to be Psychotic to perform those acts of violence,  there,   well its Tuesday ....

I've seen some guys rig up an external oil filter adapter to use a spin-on filter in line between the pump and the nozzle.  Should let you use the fluid for a long time, and just replenish what evaporates.

My setup has this exact thing - In the past when I used it (going back to it  if I can buy any real solvent)  - they recommended we use either a "gas" filter  or a "racing oil filter" because most Oil Filters filter down too much and put too much back pressure on the pump - racing filters are way less restrictive, I just put the date on the filter and swapped it every 6 months

  10. I just gave up on my Hot water / soap parts cleaner  - they just don't get the job done> Going back to my traditional parts washer

I read everything but not clear on my CA choices

I know you cannot buy Mineral spirits in CA anymore because I have to use this $80 a gallon  "test fluid" for my injector tester.  the odorless stuff is useless

So Mineral spirits are off the table unless I decide to drive to AZ one of these weekends  - right?

I have a small washer I just use for CV's and that has Diesel in it  which is find for CV grease  but then I was always using the hot water bath afterward

So what is the Best solvent a CA resident can actually buy and use ?

And if I go to AZ is it still Home depot for Mineral spirits? (Stoddard Solvent)

I have still not found a substitute for the denatured alcohol I used all the time for so many projects  - thats another issue, and I was told Lacquer thinner is going away in CA in 2024.  Is acetone next?  There will be literally no way to paint cars in CA soon

  11. While this is completely insane .... When it happens

(come on these people banned straws because a 9 year old found a picture of a single turtle with a straw in its nose and called a few companies and asked how many straws they sold a year and "estimated in  2nd grade math" the damage to the state and they voted based on that ....)

How long after these "lottery winners" get the 1.2M will they be broke?

I think it's like 0.9% of the assessed dwelling value ?

It's LOW compared to Cali. Our Havasu house was purchased for $443K in Sept 2020 and taxes are $1650

In so cal that would be $4870+ all sorts of crazy add on's depending on the city you live in.

Where I am in CA tax is 1% BUT they assess "full value" and reassess yearly.

My place in Havasu had a very low dwelling and land assessment so the .85% I paid was on a lower, more "honest" base

Sales tax in Havasu is higher than most of AZ at I think 7.6%  some places in CA its cheaper than that of course in CA where I am  (LA county) its 10.25%

    IMO that all matters

We have been told there is a lot of turn over there as it is a training hospital. Several of our renters have been nurses for 3, 6, 12 months

actually on health care.. havasu is the worst place if you need constant health care. the hospital here sucks ass. the general census is if you can live long enough to make it to kingman or vegas or phoenix, do it. only go to havasu regional as a last resort or your bleeding out, active heart attack.

I had gone to ER 2x when I was there  over 20 years - it was OK, but yeah anything serious and they said go to Vegas

My neighbor there was ex San diego, he had a Heart condition, ended up moving back to San Diego  because he worried  about on going care ,,,

    so there is that ...

I am told Yuma has great healthcare because of the base being there  - but no personal experience and its a 40 minute airlift to san diego ..

one thing i keep saying these days when asked why i sold my boat when i live at a lake, dont go to glamis much at all, etc.. is i no longer live a life i need to escape from. socal living was stressful, and i couldnt wait to go somewhere for the weekends, these days are much different.

I have a few friends that say the exact same thing - they still have boats and sand cars sitting and I can never get them to go out - they just say its paradise every day here  - I used to go out to get away and relax, now I come home to relax.  I never got that in AZ  being there part time ..  but I believe you would full time

I started looking at Yuma  since I still travel a bit for work if mostly at home -  I did the run to Las Vegas a number of times for flights from Havasu  - that gets real old  real fast...   Yuma is near the river, near Glamis  both within an hour, and a real airport in town.  Good hospitals - got think about that getting older, Havasu is good on healthcare - but anything big they fly you to Vegas. Then there is the border in Yuma, but ... maybe that gets fixed in 2024

I can get a nice newer house, and a couple acres in Yuma a 2500 sq ft shop and a pool  about half the cost of Havasu right now, but not sure of the culture.

Its amazing how all of AZ has a significantly higher crime rate (by on line stats) than my town (Torrance) in CA  but I never felt that way in Havasu. They rate Havasu same as Yuma C- in most crime, most coastal cities in CA are A- like mine , makes you wonder

I  use some stupid measurements to determine culture of where I want to live  - How red is it,  what is the percentage of RV garages, how many car clubs,  Plusess...how many chain restaurants and 7-11's Minuses ..., percentage of college grads ...  A mixed bag  and of course healthcare, and location

    Life choices man...

Everyone knows me by my drinking antics.  I rarely drink now at all.  Havasu is what you make of it.  We have plenty of friends here.  @Kevin lives here and we do a lot of stuff and hangout.  @2dasand started up an offroad group here in Havasu that does SXS runs all the time.  We do year round boating.  Winter months, lots of off-roading, hiking, tons of city planned events, lots of car shows.  Winter Havasu is pretty bitchin.  Bike night on main street every Wednesday, Car night on Thursdays.  Plus, making new friends and such.  We'll have game nights and such.  When's the last time as an adult you sat with friends and played cards or a board game?  Great times.  If you have a dog, the dog park people here are in full force.  My wife takes the dogs out there a lot. My wife started having us take "adult interest" classes with the local community college.  It's fun to get out and meet people.  We've met a lot of nice people.  There are a lot of GD.com people here.  We all kind of lay low but run into each other.

And of course, you have the bars.  We go out at least once a week.  Go have a drink.  If you know where to go, Havasu is a very social place and lots of fun.  We always sit at the bar and it's never a dull time.  Have a drink or 2 and then call it a night.

My wife is a San Diego native.  I was in SD for 32 years.  She said she would never leave but coming here for 2 weeks...on day 5 she didn't want to go back.  Day 10...she told me she wanted to move here.  It's nice to be in a small town.  Plus, living here, the party stays down at the lake or in the bars.  Our neighborhood is so nice and quiet.  We can have a pool party, sit in the hot tub and watch the sun set over the lake (we have a lake view).  Life is easy here.  It took me a few months to adjust.  I had no idea how consumed by the chaos I had become.  My physical and mental health are way better here.  Slowing down is a good thing.

    Mac -

Havasu is a fantastic place, but prices are so high now, but the small town feel is so incredible  - are you saying its gone blue???  I left mostly in  2019 only been back a couple times  - did not see that
